SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On January 13th, 2018, at approximately 0338 hours, Troopers at the Vermont State Police – Shaftsbury Barracks responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on VT Route 100 in the Town of Whitingham, Vermont.

Initial investigation revealed that Operator #1 was travelling north on VT Route 100, when the vehicle left its lane of travel and struck the guardrail on the opposite side of the road.  The vehicle slid down the guardrail approximately 50 feet before overturning and then tumbling down the embankment into the creek below.  The vehicle was located submerged in the creek. 

The vehicle involved was a red Chevrolet Silverado 1500 displaying Vermont truck registration: 304A877.  A Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record check revealed the registration was not on file.  Operator #1 was not on scene upon arrival and the operator did not leave any identifying information.
