SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On November 13th, 2017 at approximately 1837 hours Troopers with Vermont State Police St. Albans were conducting proactive motor vehicle enforcement on I-89 Northbound in the area of mile marker 105.


Troopers observed a vehicle travelling at 97mph in a posted 65mph zone and subsequently affected a motor vehicle stop in the area of mile marker 106.2. the operator and defendant was identified as Bradley Therrien (age 36) of Georgia.


Therrien refused to exit his vehicle after being told he was under arrest. Upon eventually exiting the vehicle Therrien continued to resist arrest and assaulted arresting Troopers by punching and attempting to strangle them. Therrien was quickly subdued, taken into custody, and transported to the St. Albans State Police Barracks for processing.


At the conclusion of processing Therrien was lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail. He is due to appear before Franklin County Superior Court on November 14th, 2017 to answer the charges of Careless and Negligent Operation, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.


Troopers were assisted on scene by a Burlington Police Officer who was travelling south on I-89 at the time and witnessed the fight as it was occurring.
