SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On August 8th, 2017, at approximately 2334 hours, Troopers at the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Pleasant Street in the Town of West Rutland, Vermont.

 

Initial investigation revealed that Operator #1 was travelling south on Pleasant Street, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the residence at 1599 Pleasant Street damaging the front of the residence.  The vehicle left the scene of the crash. 

 

Through investigation it was determined that Fred Colburn, age 41, of Rutland, VT, was the operator of the vehicle in question.   Colburn was issued a citation to appear in court on December 4th, 2017, for the above mentioned charge.

The vehicle was described as a gray/silver truck, possibly a Ford Ranger or similar smaller model pick-up, with a ladder rack in the back. Due to plastic debris found on scene, the vehicle is suspected to have minor front-end damage possibly to the headlight/headlight casing area.
