SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On August 9, 2017 at approximately 1345 hours Williston Troopers were advised of a multi vehicle collision on I89 in Williston in the area of French Hill northbound. Upon arrival, Troopers found that a total of three vehicles to include a full size commercial motor vehicle were involved in the crash. Investigation at the scene revealed that George Borgida of Montreal used a U-turn at MM80 illegally causing the chain reaction collision. Neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors in the collision. There were no incapacitating injuries. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Williston Fire, Williston Rescue, VT DMV Enforcement, as well as Richmond PD. Traffic was backed up for approximately 2 miles while the highway was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour. Borgida will be mailed a VCVC for Interstate Regulations for using an interstate

U-turn illegally. The violation carries a $156 fine and 2 points if convicted.
