SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 08-13-17 at approximately 1000 am hours, the Vermont State Police was contacted about a single vehicle crash on Reed Hill Road in the town of Halifax.  While en-route the state police was notified that a female operator was being transported to Bennington Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.  Upon arrival a sedan was found off the road and into trees along the shoulder of Reed Hill Road.  Witness statements revealed that the operator reported she was adjusting the dials on her windshield defroster just before crashing.  The operator Roberta Dunphy was questioned at the hospital where she confirmed that inattention and distraction contributed to the crash.  Dunphy sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital.
