SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 8/10/2017, at 1254 hours a trooper with ther Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks was alerted of a single vehicle crash with a power pole on Vermont Route 114, north of East Burke village. Upon Vermont State Police arrival, Fire and EMS personnel were treating operator #1, 26 year-old Hammel. Hammel was wearing her seatbelt, and her airbag was deployed. After speaking with Hammel and assessing the scene, it was determined that that Hammel was travelling south on VT Rt. 114 when for unknown reasons her her vehicle left roadway and along the shoulder for a short distance before crashing into the power pole, a violation of Title 23 Vermont Statues Annotated 1038, driving on roadways laned for traffic.  Hammel was issued warning for the above violation.
