SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  On August 8th 2017 at 1354 hours the Vermont State Police received a call from a concerned citizen.  They reported a scooter was driving south on US RT 7 , the scooter was travelling well under the posted speed limit and swerving.  The Vermont State Police were able to locate the scooter on US RT 7 in the Town of Bennington.  Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the operator as Matthew Kakule, 50, of Bennington VT.  During the interaction with Kakule  he showed signs of alcohol impairment.  He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.  Kakule was processed at the Shaftsbury State Police Barracks. He was cited for DUI and scheduled to appear in Bennington County Criminal Court on August 28th 2017 at 0815 am.
