VIOLATION: Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death Resulting, Gross Negligent Operation with Death Resulting and Driving License Suspended Criminally

 

ACCUSED: Jeremy Potwin                                                

AGE: 38

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Bethel, VT

 

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 08/04/2017 at approximately 2134 hours, Vermont State

Police responded to assist Royalton Police Department at the scene of a crash

with death resulting on Back River Rd. in Royalton. The operator of the vehicle

had left the scene of the crash prior to police arrival. Vermont State Police

have taken over the criminal investigation of this crash. Anyone with

information regarding the crash is encouraged to contact Vermont State Police

Royalton. The investigation is ongoing at this time. More information will be

released when it becomes available.

 

**Update** Investigation revealed the operator of the vehicle at the time of the crash was Potwin. Potwin was taken into custody without incident at his residence in Bethel. Potwin was processed for the offenses and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of 25,000 dollars bail. Potwin is scheduled to appear in Windsor Superior Criminal Court to answer to the offenses.
