SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On the above time and date, Vehicle #1 was traveling southbound on Vermont Route 100 in the town of Warren. The operator advised that she was planning on turning left onto Riverside Park Road, but failed to see it in time. Swierczynski stated that she abruptly braked and started to turn left, and admitted to not using her left directional signal.

 

Vehicle #2, a motorcycle, was travelling south on Vermont Route 100, behind Vehicle #1. Cappetta advised that Vehicle #1 stopped, and he attempted to pass on the left, as there was no indication that Vehicle #1 was turning left. Vehicle #2 impacted the driver-side door of Vehicle #1.

 

The occupants of Vehicle #1 were uninjured. The operator of Vehicle #2, Cappetta, sustained injuries to his right foot, right femur, and right arm, and was subsequently transported to Central Vermont Medical Center.   

 

The operator of Vehicle #1, Swierczynski, was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for 23 VSA 1064, Signals Required.
