VIOLATION: DUI Drugs, Cruelty to a Child (x2), Negligent Operation

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE:  Barre, VT

 

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  On July 15, 2017 at approximately 1738 hours Vermont State Troopers received a report of a vehicle that had gone off the Interstate in Bolton near mile marker 72, struck a guardrail, and continued off Exit 11.  911 callers advised there were two small children in the backseat of the vehicle.

 

Troopers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on Rt. 117 in Essex. Subsequent investigation revealed the operator, 25 year-old Christopher Adam of Barre, was driving while under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and transported to the Williston State Police Barracks for processing. He was cited to appear in Chittenden County Court on September 12, 2017 to answer to the charges of DUI – Drugs, Negligent Operation, and two counts of Cruelty to a Child.

 

The children in the vehicle were unharmed and released to the custody of a family member.
