SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 06/30/2017, at approximately 5:52 PM, members of the Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle crash involving a Tractor Trailer (TT) Unit into the median on I-91 south near mile marker 19.6 in the Town of Putney. Investigation revealed, the operator of vehicle 1 was traveling on I-91 south on the right lane when he lost control due to heavy rain, causing vehicle 1 to jackknife into a guardrail on the right shoulder. This impact caused vehicle 1 to travel onto the passing lane, impacting another guardrail while the trailer came off the tractor in the process. The trailer ripped out a large portion of the guardrail by the passing lane, causing it to go over by the median while the tractor came to rest on the passing lane

The Putney Fire Department, DJ’s Towing, Brattleboro Towing and AOT assisted at the scene.
