SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: 

On July 17, 2017 at approximately 1538 hours, the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks was notified of a structure fire on Old Dock Road in Highgate Springs, Vermont.   The Highgate Volunteer Fire Department responded and determined the involved structure was a single-story residence.  The residence had extensive damage to the living room area and there were no reported injuries during the this event.  The Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit was subsequently requested to assist with an origin and cause investigation, along with the Division of Fire Safety.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Anyone with information about this matter is asked to contact Vermont State Police at 802-524-5993 or the Vermont Arson Tip Award Program at 1-800-32-ARSON.  The Vermont Arson Tip Award Program may offer a monetary award for information, which leads to the arrest of the person(s) involved in an arson.
