VIOLATION: Driving Under the Influence (Refusal), Driving with a Criminally

Suspended License, Careless and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle,

Excessive Speed, Violation of Conditions of Release, Resisting Arrest

 

ACCUSED: Adam Irons                                               

AGE: 25

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Enosburg Falls, VT

 

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On July 1st, 2017 at approximately 0045 hours Troopers with

Vermont State Police St. Albans were patrolling VT Route 105 in the town of

Richford when a vehicle was observed to be travelling south on VT Route 105 in

significant excess of the posted speed limit of 50mph.

 

Troopers attempting to catch up to the vehicle observed as it passed other

vehicles at speeds estimated to be 100mph. A motor vehicle stop was affected on

the offending vehicle on VT Route 105 in the area of the Berkshire Flats,

Berkshire.

 

The operator and defendant was identified as Adam Irons (age 25) of Enosburg

Falls. At the time of the incident Irons' license was criminally suspended and

he was violating conditions of release from a prior arrest by operating a motor

vehicle.

 

Further investigation revealed Irons to be operating a motor vehicle while under

the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the

St. Albans State Police Barracks for processing.

 

At the conclusion of processing Irons was lodged at Northwest State Correctional

Facility for lack of $1,000 bail. He is due to appear before Franklin County

Superior Court on Monday July 3rd, 2017 to answer the charges of DUI Refusal,

Driving with a Criminally Suspended License, Careless and Negligent Operation of

a Motor Vehicle, Excessive Speed, Violation of Conditions of Release, and

Resisting Arrest.
