On July 30th, 2017, at approximately 2308 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks received a report from security at Green Mountain College of a male looking into cars on the college’s property.

Upon their arrival, Troopers located Scott C. Royce, 42, of Poultney, VT. The investigation revealed Royce had made entry into a vehicle and taken items from that vehicle with no right to do so. Royce attempted to discard those items under another motor vehicle when he was located by Troopers. The property was recovered and returned to the owner.

It was also determined that Royce had a warrant for his arrest, stemming from a previous driving with a suspended license charge. Royce was taken into custody and transported to Castleton Police Department for processing.

Royce was held at the Marble Valley Correction Center on the warrant and was cited to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division for violations of Title 13 Vermont Statutes Annotated Section 2502: Petit Larceny, Title 13 Vermont Statutes Annotated Section 2561: Receiving Stolen Property.
