SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On July 21, 2017, at approximately 1110 hours, Troopers at the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks were notified of a two-vehicle crash in the area of Medway Road on US Route 4, in the Town of Mendon, Vermont.

Initial investigation revealed that vehicle #2 was traveling eastbound on US Route 4. Vehicle #1 was traveling westbound on US Route 4 and had crossed the double yellow center line by approximately 1 foot. Vehicle #2 was struck by vehicle #1 in an offset head on collision. Vehicle #2 spun out of control and came to an uncontrolled rest in the eastbound lane of US Route 4. Vehicle #1 came to an uncontrolled rest in the westbound brake lane.

The Vermont State Police were assisted by Regional Ambulance Service, Rutland City Fire Department, Rutland Town Police Department and Rutland County Sheriff’s Department. Carrara’s towing removed the vehicles from the roadway.

The case remains under investigation by Vermont State Police at this time.
