SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On July 3, 2017, at approximately 1022 hours, Troopers at the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks were notified of a two-vehicle crash in the area of the Long Trail Swinging Bridge on VT Route 103, in the Town of Shrewsbury, Vermont.

Initial investigation revealed that vehicle #2 was traveling southbound on VT Route 103. Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on VT Route 103 and had crossed the double yellow center line by 4-5 feet. Vehicle #2 swerved right to try and avoid being struck by vehicle #1 but was unable to avoid the collision. Vehicle #1 struck the left rear end of vehicle #2 with its front left portion. Vehicle #2 continued onto the railroad tracks traveling southwest off the roadway approximately 45 feet.

The Vermont State Police were assisted by Clarendon Fire Department. Boondock Motors removed the vehicle from the train tracks.
