SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On July 13, 2017 at approximately 1356 hours, State Police were notified of a two- car, motor vehicle collision on VT Route 22A in the Town of Bridport. Upon arrival Operator  #1 was identified as Ellen Welch; Operator #2 was identified as Alfred Burns.  Investigation revealed that both operators were traveling South on VT Route 22A. OP #1 had stopped for a “wide load” vehicle that was making a left turn to travel southbound in front of her.  OP #2 subsequently struck the rear of vehicle #1.  OP #1 was taken to Porter Medical Center for unknown injuries.  Neither alcohol nor drugs were determined to be contributing factors in the collision.

 

Vermont State Police were assisted by Bristol Fire Department and Middlebury Rescue.
