SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On July 28, 2017, at approximately 0752 hours, Vermont State Police – Rutland barracks responded to a two vehicle crash on US RT 7 at the intersection on Kendall Hill Rd in Pittsford, Vermont.

 

Investigation revealed that Alejandro Rantanen was traveling northbound on US RT 7 in a 2016 Western Star commercial truck and stopped due to a vehicle turning left onto Kendal Hill Rd. Meanwhile, Kelsey Parker was traveling north on US RT 7 in a 2005 Honda Civic and failed to stop before crashing into the rear of Alejandro’s truck. Kelsey Parker’s car was lodged under the rear bumper of the truck and sustained extensive damage.

 

Parker was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for examination.

 

Rantanen advised he was not injured.

 

The Honda Civic was towed away by a local tow service. The Western Star remained on scene and was subsequently inspected by the Vermont DMV, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.

 

Kelsey Parker was found at fault for this crash, due to failing to operating her vehicle while having regard for actual or potential hazards.
