SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On July 27, 2017, at approximately 1400 hours, the Vermont State Police received a call regarding a male discovered deceased on a pull off on Gore Road in the town of Holland, VT.   Emergency Responders responded to the scene and pronounced Marcotte deceased. Detectives with the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Assistant Medical Examiner responded to the scene. It appeared the male, identified as Russell Marcotte, age 96, committed suicide. 

 

Through the course of the investigation, State Police concluded the cause of death is suspected to be the result of a suicide, but is pending the results of an autopsy.  The death is not considered suspicious.
