Williston Barracks/ Negligent Operation- Safety Corridor

VIOLATION: Negligent Operation

 

ACCUSED: Dambar K. Dhakal

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Concord New Hampshire

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On June 13, 2017 between 0500 and 0900 various Chittenden County Law Enforcement agencies to include VSP State Police, Burlington P.D., Shelburne P.D., and the Chittenden County Sheriff's Dept were conducting a pro-active Safety Corridor enforcement detail on interstate 89 in Chittenden County. The detail specifically focused on aggressive driving, tailgating, and cell phone use between exits 13 and 17. During the detail Troopers stopped Dambar K. Dhakal of Concord New Hampshire for traveling at 102 miles per hour in a posted 65 mph zone in the Safety Corridor. Dhakal was being followed by a vehicle traveling at the same speed. It appeared as though the two cars were racing. Dhakal was taken into custody for Negligent Operation and processed at the Williston State Police Barracks. Dhakal's car was towed from the location of the stop. Dhakal will be required to answer to the above charges on July 25, 2017 at Chittenden County District Court. Troopers remind citizens to drive safely on public highways to prevent serious bodily injury and fatal collisions.
