SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

The Vermont State Police are investigating a single car crash that occurred on Mill Brook Road in the Town of Bolton.  A passenger car operated by 74 year old Dean Kent of Colchester, Vermont, was traveling south on Mill Brook Road when the vehicle crossed the road and struck a large tree on the opposite side of the road.  Kent was unrestrained at the time of the crash and was the sole occupant of the vehicle.  Kent sustained incapacitating injuries as a result of the crash.   Kent was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center where he was admitted due to his injuries. 

 

Troopers were assisted on-scene by the Richmond Police Department, Richmond EMS and the Bolton Fire Department.  

 

Kent's privilege to operate a motor vehicle was under suspension in the State of Vermont.  Kent was subsequently cited to appear in court for this offense.  Any additional enforcement action will be determined pending the outcome of this investigation. 

 

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
