SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On June 12, 2017 at approximately 1600 hours VSP Williston Troopers responded to I89 in Colchester at MM97 southbound for the report of a car fire. Initial reports were that the driver was still in the vehicle. Just prior to VT State Police arrival, Troopers were advised that the operator was able to get out of his car. The 1999 Toyota Camry which had more than 333,000 miles on it was fully involved by fire upon VSP's arrival. Colchester Fire responded to put the fire out. St. Mike's Rescue also responded for precautionary reasons. Traffic was limited to one lane for approximately 1 hour while the fire was extinguished and the car was removed from the interstate.
