VSP Arrest- MVRCF Inmate- Perjury

VIOLATION:                           TITLE 13 VSA 2091: PERJURY (FELONY)

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

In May 2017, Nicholas Miller, an inmate in the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility (MVRCF) contacted the Vermont State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigations and reported having inappropriate contact with his wife’s Probation Officer.  Miller demanded his wife to be assigned a new Probation Officer and asked for several of his privileges within the facility to be reinstated.  

 

Vermont State Police Detectives immediately opened an investigation into Miller’s allegation, ultimately uncovering that Miller had knowingly made false statements regarding the above allegation. 

 

On June 19, 2017, during a follow-up interview, Miller confessed to falsely reporting the above.  At the conclusion of the investigation, Miller was found be in violation of Title 13 VSA 2901, Perjury.  Miller is scheduled to appear in the Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division on August 21, 2017 at 08:15 hours to answer to the above charge.
