SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On the attached date and time, Troopers from the St. Johnsbury State Police

barracks, responded to a report of a single vehicle crash, with injury, on

Calkins Camp Road, in the town of Danville, VT. Upon arrival, Troopers observed

Operator #1's vehicle off the north shoulder of the roadway against a telephone

pole.

Tire marks at the scene indicated that Operator #1 was traveling east on Calkins

Camp Road, when for unknown reasons Operator #1 lost control of his vehicle,

left the north shoulder of the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

Operator #1 suffered critical injuries during the crash and was transported to

Northern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) in St. Johnsbury, VT., prior to being

airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, in stable but critical condition.

Passenger #1 sustained minor injury during this crash, was evaluated and

released by EMS personnel on scene.

Both the occupants of the vehicle were properly restrained.

At this time no tickets were issued and no criminal charges are pending, however, this crash is being actively investigated and at this time speed does appear to be a factor in the crash. Any witnesses are asked to contact the St. Johnsbury barracks at 748-3111.
