SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  On 06/02/2017 at approximately 1535 hours, Troopers responded to a reported theft at Blue Mountain Union School in Newbury. Investigation found a number of items belonging to the varsity baseball team had been stolen from the area of the baseball field during an outdoor field day at

the school. Several unknown juveniles were seen in the area at the time of the theft.

The following day, Troopers were able to locate the stolen equipment, totaling nearly $2,000.00 in value, in a wooded location near the school. Investigation led Troopers to contact two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16, and determine they were responsible for the theft.

As a result of this investigation, a search warrant was executed at the residence of one of the juveniles on 06/09/2017. That search warrant resulted in the seizure of more unreported stolen property, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm used in a separate online threatening case.

The 16 year old juvenile has been issued juvenile citations for grand larceny, possession of stolen property, and disorderly conduct via electronic means.  The 15 year old juvenile was issued a juvenile citation for grand larceny. Both are to appear in Orange County Court at a later date.
