SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On June 7, 2017 at 0442 hours, Troopers from the St. Albans barracks were called out to a single vehicle crash on Berkshire Center Rd in Berkshire, VT. The Troopers learned that the operator, Alex Weld (25) crashed the vehicle at 0300 hours and got a ride home. Weld then went to work in St. Albans without calling to report the crash. The crash was finally reported to VSP by his father Mark at 0442 hours.

 

Once Troopers arrived to the scene, the observed a green Toyota with front end damage crashed on the front lawn of 3268 Berkshire Center Rd. There was some damage to the front lawn of the residence. Contact wasn't made with Alex until 0800 hours, where they learned that due to the fog, Alex couldn't see and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of King Rd and Berkshire Center Rd.

 

Alex will be receiving a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on July 10, 2017 at 1pm to answer to the charge of Leaving the scene of a crash.
