INCIDENT LOCATION: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port of Entry on

Interstate 89 in Highgate Springs, VT.

VIOLATION: Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

 

ACCUSED: Ismael Espinosa Jr.                                             

AGE: 34

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Bronx, NY

 

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On June 17, 2017 at approximately 1735 hours the Vermont

State Police were asked to respond to The U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Port of Entry on Interstate 89 in Highgate Springs, VT, for a report of an

erratic driver.

 

The Vermont State Police arrived on scene and met with U.S. Customs and Border

Protection Officers (CBPO's) who advised that Ismael Espinosa, 34, of Bronx, NY,

was driving his vehicle in the designated bus lane. CBPO's also advised that

Espinosa was found to be in possession of a small amount of Marijuana and had

admitted to recently smoking.

 

Espinosa conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest

for driving under the influence of drugs. Espinosa was transported to the VSP

St. Albans Barracks for processing. Espinosa was released on a citation to

appear at the Franklin County Superior Court on July 24, 2017 at 1300 hours to

answer to the charge of driving under the influence of drugs.
