SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On June 23rd 2017, at approximately 2122 hours, a traffic stop was initiated by VSP Shaftsbury Troopers on a grey 2007 Saab 93 for defective equipment and an unsafe lane change. Indicators of impairment were observed while speaking with the operator, who was identified as John Bradley.

During the course of the investigation, an individual stopped at the scene who informed Troopers that this vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle collision with their vehicle in Bennington. The individual followed Bradley to the location of the stop, after he stated he would pull over but then left the scene. Damage was observed on the front end of Bradley’s vehicle, as well as the rear end of the second vehicle.

Bradley was placed under arrest for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. He was transported to the Shaftsbury State Police barracks for processing, where he was fingerprinted and photographed. Bradley was issued a citation to appear before the Bennington County Superior Court- Criminal Division on July 17th 2017 at 0815 hours to answer to the charges of DUI #1 and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
