ACCUSED:  Leonard G. Fortin

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On June 24th 2017 at 2130 hours, VSP Shaftsbury Troopers were dispatched to a reported domestic disturbance in Readsboro. It was reported that Leonard Fortin had been involved in a physical altercation. Investigation determined Fortin had allegedly placed his hands around the neck of the other person and squeezed for several seconds, causing them pain.

 

Fortin was placed under arrest and transported to the Shaftsbury State Police barracks for processing. He was fingerprinted and photographed. Fortin was issued Conditions of Release, including that he must appear before the Bennington County Superior Court- Criminal Division on June 26th 2017 at 1230 PM to answer to the charge of domestic assault.

 

Bennington County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assisted with the investigation of this incident.
