SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 6/28/17 at approximately 2209 hours State Police received a report of a single motor vehicle crash on River Road in the town of Sharon. The caller also stated that the crash caused the utility pole to break and the wires to fall. Green Mountain Power had to shut off power to the area in order for first responders to approach the scene. Upon investigation, it was determined that the motorcycle crashed into the pole and the operator was deceased. The operator was identified by his driver's license to be Jonathan Rikert out of Sharon.  Investigation to follow.
