SUMMARY OF CRASH:  On May 15, 2017 at approximately 1733 hours Vermont State Troopers responded to a report of a four-vehicle crash on I-89 Northbound at Exit 15. Fire/Rescue was also dispatched to the scene. Initial investigation revealed a dark-colored pickup truck had cut onto the Exit 15 off-ramp at the last minute, causing Vehicle #1 to have to brake. This created a chain reaction in which Vehicles #2 and #3 also had to apply their brakes. In an attempt to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of her, the operator of Vehicle #3 swerved left, at which time it was struck by Vehicle #4. The operator of Vehicle #4 was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center to be evaluated for non-life threatening injuries. This crash is still under investigation.

As a result of this crash, traffic became heavy in the corridor between Exits 13 and 15. Due to driver inattention to the roadway and traffic conditions, three more minor collisions occurred in this area. No injuries were reported in these collisions.
