INCIDENT LOCATION: Pierce Road, Putney

VIOLATION: Burglary, Felony Possession of marijuana

 

ACCUSED: Stephen R. Bain                                               

AGE: 63

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Putney, VT

 

VICTIM: (The Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of

sexual assault or domestic violence.)

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 16, 2017, at approximately 2:00 P.M. Troopers

working out of the Westminster barracks concluded an investigation with the

execution of a search warrant on Pierce Road in Putney. Stephen Bain was found

to be in possession of approximately four and one half pounds of marijuana as

well as several items which had been reported stolen. Bain was arrested, taken

back to the Westminster barracks  and processed for burglary and possession of

marijuana. Judge Corsones was contacted and ordered Bain held on $10,000 bail

and other conditions of release. Bain was transported to the Southern State

Correctional Facility for lack of bail and is expected in Windham Superior

Court, Criminal Division on May 17, 2017 to answer to the charges.
