SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Members of the Vermont Drug Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with the assistance of the Rutland City Police Department arrested Shawn Cormia on May 3, 2017, for distribution of heroin. Comia is part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of heroin in Rutland County. Members of the Vermont Drug Task Force coordinated controlled purchases of heroin from Cormia on several occasions. Cormia was arrested without incident on May 3, 2017 in Rutland City at his residence on Pine Street.

 

Cormia was processed at the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland and lodged at the Chittenden County Correctional Facility pending his appearance in Federal Court , Burlington Vermont. Cormia appeared for his initial appearing in Federal Court on May 4, 2017, Cormia was held and placed in the custody of the US Marshals Service.
