SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On May 2, 2017, at approximately 0315 hours, Vermont State Police responded to a report of an overturned tractor trailer unit on RT 105 near the intersection of RT 105A in Richford, VT.

The truck driver, Allen Blake, was transported to Northwest Medical Center to be evaluated for potential injuries. Troopers interviewed Blake while he was at the hospital. Blake stated he had been traveling west on RT 105 when he observed 3 deer near the center of the roadway.  Blake attempted to avoid the deer by steering to the west lane shoulder of RT 105. When he did this his passenger side tires sunk into the soft shoulder. Blake was unable to steer the truck and trailer back onto the roadway before the truck rolled onto the passenger side.

The truck and trailer came to an uncontrolled position of rest completely off the north side of RT 105 facing westbound. At the time of the incident the trailer was partially loaded with produce and meat.

The vehicle was removed by McCrae's Towing out of Milton, VT. Vermont DMV also responded to conduct an inspection of the truck and trailer. There were no violations reported by DMV.
