SUMMARY OF CRASH: On May 7, 2017 at approximately 1328 hours the Vermont State

Police, the Swanton Fire Department, and the Missisquoi Valley Rescue Services

responded to a single vehicle rollover on Bushy Road, near Woods Hill Road, in

Swanton, Vermont. Investigation revealed that the operator, Eric Taft, 32, of

Plattsburgh, NY, was travelling eastbound on Bushy Road in his 2017 Dodge Truck

when he fell asleep at the wheel. Investigation suggests that the vehicle approached

a left hand corner and went off of the roadway to the right. Taft awoke and attempted

to get back onto the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then came back

onto the roadway, crossed into the westbound lane of traffic, went left off of the roadway

and rolled approximately 1 to 3 times before landing upright. Taft sustained minor injuries

and refused medical treatment. The vehicle sustained significant front end damage and

its air bags deployed.
