SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On May 6th 2017, at 1436 hours, the Vermont State Police responded to a crash involving an off road motorcycle striking a tree on Sunderland Hill Rd in the Town of Sunderland.  The operator was identified as Kevin Delaney, 24, of Sunderland VT. Delaney was traveling north on Sunderland Hill Rd riding a 2007 Suzuki RMZ250.  Delaney accelerated to pass another vehicle when he lost control and drove off the edge of the roadway.  He travelled approximately 123 feet before colliding with a tree.  He was ejected from the dirt bike after colliding with the tree. Delaney was treated for his injuries by Arlington Rescue. He was transported by a medflight to Albany Medical Center.  He is in critical condition.  The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the crash and believe speed and reckless operation were contributing factors.  This investigation was assisted by Bennington County Sheriff's Department.
