SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On May 17, 2017, at approximately 0424 hours, Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Troopers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on US Route 7 in Pownal, VT. The crash investigation revealed that Shannon Pinsonneault was traveling north on US Route 7 when she left the traveled portion of the roadway before subsequently striking a telephone pole. Investigation revealed that Pinsonneault had a young child inside of the vehicle while operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Pinsonneault was arrested for DUI and Cruelty to a Child. Pinsonneault was processed and released on a citation to appear in Bennington Superior Court. Members from the Pownal Fire Department, Pownal Rescue Squad, Walt's Towing, and Green Mountain Power assisted at the scene.
