Reward offered for gas station/firearm dealership burglary

The Vermont State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives continue to investigate the May 4, 2017 burglary of the Shell station and firearms dealership located at 705 Rockingham Rd in Rockingham.  Numerous firearms and a large quantity of ammunition were stolen in the burglary.

VSP and ATF are offering a $5000.00 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction for this crime.

Vermont State Police troopers and detectives continue to investigate the May 4th
burglary which occurred in Rockingham and is noted below.

In addition to the Shell gas station, a private firearms dealer who rented space
on the property has been identified as a victim of the burglary.

Twenty firearms - a mix of long guns and handguns - as well as a substantial
amount of cash, was stolen from the firearms dealership.  The total loss is
estimated to be approximately $15000.00 - $16000.00.

The firearms were well documented and are traceable.

An ATM in the gas station was robbed of several thousand dollars.  The gas
station itself sustained a loss of over a thousand dollars between stolen cash
and property, and damaged property.

Troopers continue to actively investigate this burglary and request that anyone
with information about it contact investigators at the Westminster Barracks (802
722-4600.)

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 05/04/17 at approximately 2:56 am, members of the of the Vermont State Police
responded to the Shell gas station, located at 705 Rockingham Road in
Rockingham, for the report of a commercial burglary. The investigation into this
matter is still ongoing and the State Police encourage anyone with information
to contact the Westminster State Police Barracks at (802)722-4600.
