SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On May 27, 2017 at approximately 09:20 hours, Troopers from the New Haven Barracks observed a grey Toyota Rav4 travelling south on VT Route 22A in the Town of Addison at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked on radar at a speed of 81 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. The operator, Mengistu, was subsequently arrested and transported to the Vergennes Police Department for processing. Mengistu was released on citation to appear at the Addison County Court on June 26, 2017 at 12:30 hours to answer to the charge of Excessive Speed.
