SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, the Vermont State Police came upon a vehicle that had been driven off the roadway and onto train tracks located at US Route 7 near Vermont Route 17.  The vehicle was stuck on the tracks after it was driven an estimated fifty feet along the rails.   

 

State Police made contact with the operator, 33 year old Mary Mendoza of Weybridge, Vermont, and detected signs of impairment.  State Police screened Mendoza roadside and subsequently took her into custody for suspected DUI.  Mendoza was processed for DUI, arrested and released on a citation to appear at Addison District Court on June 19, 2017, to answer the charge of DUI (First Offense).
