SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Vermont State Police in conjunction with Hinsdale Police Department (NH) where alerted to attempts by Kurt Carpentino to contact the victim in a pending court case to be heard in Windham Superior Criminal Court-Brattleboro as a result of his arrest for Kidnapping and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a minor on 04272017 (Case # 17B102531-initial press release attached below). Carpentino attempted to contact the victim through several third parties and persuade the victim to change his/her initial statement about the incident. Carpentino was cited to appear in Windham Superior Criminal Court for 05312017 at 1230 hours to answer to the charges of Obstruction of Justice and Violation of Conditions of Release.

INCIDENT LOCATION: Rockingham, Vermont

VIOLATION: Kidnapping, Aggravated Sexual Assault

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: 

 

Vermont State Police troopers responded to Rockingham to investigate the

reported sighting of a missing 14-year-old juvenile from Hinsdale, NH.  The

juvenile was located in the vicinity of Alden Rd.  It was quickly learned the

juvenile had been brought to Vermont from New Hampshire by Kurt Carpentino.

 

Carpentino was located driving in Springfield by Springfield Police Department

officers.

 

Investigation by troopers and detectives revealed Carpentino brought the

juvenile across state lines to Vermont, without the knowledge of or permission

from the juvenile's family, where he and the juvenile had sex.

 

Carpentino was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.

He is due in court tomorrow, April 27.

 

Carpentino has a criminal record in Vermont and New Hampshire.
