SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On April 10, 2017, at approximately 8:57 PM, the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks, received a report of a Red Toyota Pickup truck had crash into a building in Route 30 in the Town of Jamaica. Members of the Vermont State Police responded to the scene. While en route it was learned the vehicle left the scene and was traveling south on Route 30. A member of the Winhall Police Department assisted and subsequently intercepted the vehicle on Route 30 in the Town of Townshend. Members of the Vermont State Police responded to that area and investigation revealed that the operator, Cody M. Morton, 26, of Townshend, Vermont was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the crash. Morton was arrested and transported to the Vermont State Police Westminster Barrack for processing. Morton was released with a citation to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on April 25, 2017 to answer to a charge of DUI and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
