Westminster Barracks / Death Investigation - Suicide

INCIDENT LOCATION: Williams River Bridge, Interstate 91 SB mm 35 Town of Rockingham

INCIDENT: Death Investigation / Suicide

 

VICTIM: Male, 60 years old

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE:  Greenwich, Connecticut

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On April 06, 2017 at approximately 11:57 hours, the State Police of Westminster stopped to check on a Connecticut registered vehicle parked on the right shoulder of Interstate 91 southbound, mile marker 35 in the Town of Rockingham. The vehicle was parked just prior to the Williams River Bridge.  The vehicle was unoccupied, however a hand written note and photograph driver’s license was observed in the vehicle.   The note was signed by the registered owner of the vehicle.   Upon further investigation State Police discovered an individual lying in a wooded area, below the Williams River Bridge.  The individual was immediately pronounced dead.  

 

There was nothing suspicious found at the scene and no foul play is suspected.  A post mortem examination was ordered to be conducted.    Death notification to family members was made by Greenwich CT Police Department.  Interviews with family members is on-going by Vermont State Police Detectives.
