SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: State Police received a report of alleged violations of an abuse prevention order on 04/28/17 at approximately 1330 hours. Investigation found Nelson Bates had violated an existing abuse prevention order by placing over 300 phone calls and sending hundreds of sexually explicit text messages to the female victim over a two day period. Bates was arrested at his residence in Fairlee on 04/29/17 and lodged on a felony charge of violating an abuse prevention order. His bail was set at $2,500 cash or surety.
