SUMMARY OF CRASH:

                On April 8, 2017 at approximately 1729 hours the Vermont State Police

responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Vermont Route 104A, near the

intersection of Arrow Head Lake Road, in Georgia, Vermont.

                The Vermont State Police, The Georgia Fire Department, and AM Care

Ambulance Services arrived on scene and observed a 2002 Volvo V70, with

significant front end damage, on the edge of the westbound lane of traffic on

Vermont Route 104A.

                Investigation revealed that the operator, Austin Sloan, 22, of

Burlington, Vermont, had driven off of the roadway and into the ditch, crashing

into small trees. Sloan agreed to conduct standardized field sobriety tests and

provided a PBT result of .191% BAC.

                Sloan was taken into custody and transported to the VSP St. Albans

barracks for fingerprinting and processing. Sloan was released on a citation to

appear at the Franklin County Superior Court on May 30, 2017 at 1300 hours to

answer to the charges of driving under the influence and careless and negligent

operation.
