SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On April 5, 2017, at approximately 1108 hours, Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash located on Vermont Route 103, in the vicinity of 1637 VT Route 103, located in Mount Holly.

 

Initial investigation revealed vehicle #2, a tractor trailer unit was stationary pulled off to the right side of the northbound lane of VT Route 103 with its hazard lights activated.  Vehicle #1 was being operated northbound in the northbound lane of VT Route 103.  Vehicle #1 traveled over the white fog line and struck the left rear of the trailer.

 

Operator #1 suffered serious bodily injury as a result of the crash and was subsequently airlifted to Albany Medical Center.

 

Troopers were assisted by the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Department, Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Department, Ludlow Ambulance Service and the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicle-Commercial Enforcement Division.
