VIOLATION: Careless and Negligent Operation/Excessive Speed

 

ACCUSED: Christopher Seagroves

AGE: 26

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Enosburg, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

                On 04-28-2017 at approximately 0915 hours, the Vermont State Police affected a motor vehicle stop on I-89 southbound near MM 67 in Waterbury, VT. The Detective Trooper recognized a motor vehicle pass him at a high rate of speed on the public highway.

 

                The subsequent investigation confirmed that 26 year-old Christopher Seagroves from Enosburg, VT,  was operating his vehicle at speeds in excess of 110 mph on I-89 SB between Richmond and Waterbury, VT.  Seagroves was also witnessed as travelling at speeds of about 90-105 through the marked AOT Green-up areas. Seagroves was then stopped for the criminal offense to ensure the safety for other motorists travelling the highway.

 

                Seagroves was arrested for the offense and transported to the Middlesex State Police Barracks by the Washington County Sheriffs where Seagroves was processed for the arrest.  Seagroves was then released with a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on May 25, 2017 at 0830 hours to answer the charge of Careless and Negligent Operation/Excessive Speed.
