SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On 04/27/2017 at approximately 1556 hours, Vermont State Police received a

report of a one vehicle crash into a utility pole near 1665 Cross Road in the

Town of Newport Center, Vermont. Prior to State Police arrival, further

information was received that the operator had left the scene.

 

Shortly after, Troopers Identified the operator of the crashed vehicle in the passenger

seat of a vehicle bearing Vermont Registration FRE354, a black in color, 2003

Nissan Maxima pulling out of a local service station. The vehicle was

subsequently stopped and the passenger Identified himself as Casey Bonneau, operator of

the motor vehicle that crashed on Cross Road. Bonneau provided a preliminary

sample of his breath and his BAC measured at .206%. Subsequent interview and

investigation revealed Bonneau had been impaired at the time of operation.

 

Further investigation revealed the operator of the Nissan, Francis Beveridge of

Troy Vermont was also been operating while impaired. Beveridge provided a

preliminary sample of his breath and his BAC measured at .087%. Beveridge was

also placed under arrest.

 

Bonneau was issued a citation to appear in court on 05/09/2017 to answer to the

charge of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. Beveridge was issued a

citation to appear in court on 05/09/2017 to answer the charge of DUI#1.
