During the early morning hours of April 29, 2017, Troopers of the Vermont State Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on VT RT 103, in the Town of Clarendon. As Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated at a high rate of speed. Troopers briefly pursued the vehicle before it was stopped. The operator was identified as Tyler Adam Ward, 26, of Cuttingsville, VT. Investigation revealed that Ward was under the influence of intoxicants. Ward was screened for DUI. Ward provided a preliminary sample of his breath which was measured as 0.131% BrAC. Ward was transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland Town for processing. Ward was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on May 15th, 2017 at 0830 hours, to answer to the charge of DUI.
