SUMMARY OF CRASH:

Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to a two vehicle crash on VT-117 at the intersection of Barber Farm Road in the Town of Jericho, Vermont.  27 year old Megan Labonte of Fairfax Vermont was operating her 2002, Toyota Rav4 west on VT-117 in Jericho towards Essex.  72 year old Julia Kim of Jericho, Vermont was operating her 2002, Audi A4 east on VT-117 when she initiated a left turn at the intersection of VT-117 and Barber Farm Road.   While making the left turn Kim crossed into the westbound lane of VT-117 in front of Labonte’s vehicle.  Labonte’s vehicle struck the right front side of Kim’s vehicle resulting in disabling, heavy front end damage to both vehicles.

Both operators as well as a passenger in Kim’s vehicle, 60 year old Bernard Paquette of Jericho, Vermont, were injured in this crash.  All parties were transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.

VT-117 at Barber Farm Road was temporarily shut down as both vehicles were blocking the intersection.  The vehicles were quickly removed and the roadway re-opened to traffic.

Troopers from the Williston Barracks were assisted at the scene by the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Department, Underhill-Jericho Fire Department as well as Essex and Richmond EMS.

Neither speed or impairment were factors in this crash.  This crash remains under investigation.
